Project Life Week 31 and 32

Can you believe it's already Thursday?  This week has flown by and I couldn't be happier, especially since it's a three day weekend this weekend!!

Today I'm sharing Project Life weeks 31 and 32.

Week 31 was the first week of August.  It seems so long ago now!

Week 32 we had meet the teacher night for Abie and Grammy and I took Abie to get her makeup done, then to Andre's for lunch.

I added a 5x8 insert this week and included the pastry sack from Andre's.  I love that I found these page protectors locally!

We had puppy class Tuesday night and curriculum night for Landry.  Then on Wednesday Mike dropped Dirk off to get neutered.  We were able to pick him up around 4:30 PM last night.  He was doing really well, just drowsy :)  I'm hoping to get the house picked up and of course my normal Thursday grocery shopping done this afternoon, before Abie's curriculum night, tonight.  Then we'll be ready to roll for the holiday weekend!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I'll see you guys soon, maybe not until Tuesday.  Have a wonderful Thursday and a fabulous weekend!!

Gift bag.

Hey guys!!  I'm posting a gift bag today that I made for Landry to take to a birthday party on Sunday.

This time I stamped directly on the bag and then added to strips of glitter.  I die cut a spiral notepad, that I embellished with a doily and the birthday girl's initial.  Then I clipped the whole card to the bag with a matching glittery clothespin.

I was super busy at the end of the week last week, which explains why I went MIA.  I probably won't be around Wednesday this week, but am hoping to be back on Thursday with a Project Life post for you guys!  I keep thinking, now that the girls are back in school I'll be getting back to regular posts, but it just hasn't fall into place yet.  It will, I know it :)

I hope you guys are doing great!  Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you soon!  Have a beautiful Tuesday!

WOYWW

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  Today I'm linking up over at JULIA'S BLOG to share what I'm working on today.

I'm working on a layout!  This will go in my Project Life album, which is the way I document our life, but I add in regular layouts as needed.

The girls have a dentist appointment today, after school and then at 6:30 I'm meeting up with some friends to grocery shop for my girls weekend this weekend!  I've never been so excited to grocery shop!  Haha!

Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you guys tomorrow!  Have a beautiful Wednesday :)

Project Life Week 29 and 30

Hello there!  How was your weekend?  Ours was fantastic!  We had a great visit from old friends Friday night, shopping and relaxing on Saturday and some swimming on Sunday.  The weather is going to heat back up this week, up to normal August temps that is, but that's the way it should be, right?  The cool weather was just a bit to premature for me :)  Even though it did get me a little excited to start thinking about fall projects!!

Today I wanted to share with you week 29 and 30 of my Project Life.

Pretty simple here, pictures and words :)  but I did add an insert...

I was going to buy the 5x7 inserts from Becky Higgins, but I found these Avery page protectors at Office Depot.  They are actually 5x8 and even though the holes don't quite line up, I just punch one, right above my thumb there, and they work perfectly!  I am in love!!!

Week 30, back to pictures and words :)  No inserts.  Last year I used the 6x12 insert a lot and this year it's 8 1/2 x 11 and now the 5x8.

How is your Project Life coming along for 2013, if you are doing it this year?  I'm still loving it and so glad I've chosen to document our families life this way :)

Hope you have a wonderful Monday and I appreciate you stopping by!  See you tomorrow!!

Crafty daughter.

A couple of weeks ago Abie wanted to make a gift for someone close to her that she would be saying good bye to.  She had seen an idea online and we picked up all the supplies:

A matted picture of a landscape
Black spray paint
Black picture frame
Letter stickers (we used thickers)

Abie took the mat off of her picture (we couldn't find a landscape and ended up going with a city scape instead) and then she placed her thickers, with her chosen phrase.  Dad helped her with the spray paint.  She only needed one good coat.

After the paint dried, Abie peeled the thickers off and was left with this cool piece of art!  She placed it in the frame and wrapped it up for her recipient.  I told her that I want one for the house now!

Hope you guys have a great weekend and I'll be back on Monday :)  Thanks for stopping in today!!

Cleaning up!

So yesterday was a fabulous day. We are having some unseasonably cool weather here, for August, but it is gorgeous! After we got the girls of to school, I stated cleaning up the craft room. They have such a good time in there and their are was quite a disaster!

I even got my side cleaned up too!  I moved a few things around, ran to the office store and picked up a couple of organizational items and finished up.

Right before the girls came home, I sat down with an iced coffee, my filofax and my planning notebook. I worked on planning out last weeks project life.  Then after the girls relished me with tales of their day, I worked on PL. :)

First day of school

Good morning!  Today was the first day of middle school for Abie and first grade for Landry.  Both girls were so excited!  I love that they are excited for school and love it so much :)

Here is Abie, in her much debated over outfit, just before the bus picked her up and whisked her off to the "big" school ;)

Here is Miss Landry, ready to go for first grade!  SHE was super excited!

I took the day off today to get some things done around the house, hoping to craft a bit AFTER I clean up my craft room.  But what I'm most excited about is when the girls get home today and they can tell me about their first day :)

Thanks for stopping by today and I'm hoping to be back tomorrow with a crafty something to share.  Have a beautiful Wednesday!

Thank you for a coworker.

Happy Friday everyone.  Today I wanted to share with you a thank you card I made for a coworker that did a nice thing for me last week.

I pieced together some bits and pieces I had leftover and I really like how this turned out.  I wish I would have taken a picture of the inside.  I stamped a big "thank you" on the inside in a pretty red and I I loved the way it looked!

We're here at the end of the week.  One more event, and we'll have made it!  Meet the teacher for the middle school tonight and then we're going to take the girls out to dinner.  Mike is headed to St Louis tomorrow with some friends so the girls and I are going to have a girls Saturday/Sunday :)  What are your plans for the weekend?

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend.  I'll see you soon!

Baker's Twine!

I know, I know, you've all seen baker's twine before, but the cool thing about THIS baker's twine is where I found it and how much it was!

(sorry about the blurry picture)  I found this HUGE roll of baker's twine at Home Goods in the, get this, baking section!  Haha!  I couldn't believe it when I ran across it!  And, it was only $5.99!!!!  I'm so excited about it!

Puppy classes went awesome last night.  So proud of our boy :)  Tonight we don't have any plans and I'm so excited about that!  Have a great Wednesday and I'll be back tomorrow with a new card!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Mom's Birthday card.

Happy Tuesday friends!  Today I want to share my mom's birthday card with you.  Her and my dad have just gotten back from a month long Harley trip and they were gone over her birthday.  I didn't want to  post her card until they got back and I was able to give it to her.

I used some old Crate Paper paper, my favorite, and a matching journaling card.  Then I added some ephemera to the top of the journaling card and popped the whole thing up with foam adhesive.  I stamped the sentiment onto the journaling card with a dark red Momento ink called Rhubarb, I think.  It matched the flowers almost perfectly!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!  I'll be back tomorrow with either another card or a fun new find I meant to post last week :)  See you then!

Birthday bag.

Good morning and happy Monday!  Did you have a nice weekend?  We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend and I just love that!

Yesterday we had a birthday party to go to and the gift of choice was a Claire's gift card.  I fixed up this brown paper bag to place the gift card in.

After I placed the gift card inside, I stapled a small tag I had decorated, to the front, that had "to" and "from" on it :)

We start puppy classes for Dirk on Tuesday night and Abie has an impromptu volleyball practice on Thursday night.  Then meet the teacher for middle school is Friday night!!  A fun, exciting week!!

Thanks for stopping in today and I'll see you guys tomorrow!  Have a beautiful Monday!

Filofax Pages

Today I wanted to share a finished Filofax week.  I think the weeks I've shared in the past have been upcoming weeks so I wanted to show you what a week of mine looks like after I've finished my to dos, etc.

This was a pretty slow week.  It was our first week without volleyball :)  I used minimal washi to decorate.  I have gotten in the habit of writing a checklist of to dos on the right and then on left goes birthdays or notes for Project Life.  I write with my erasable Frixion pen for future appointments and then when I sit down to decorate the week and plan out things, I erase everything and write in my checklist, etc.  Now you may think this looks very neat.  I also use post its throughout the week.  Those get thrown out daily, after I've completed the tasks on the post its.  I've been using this system since May and I can't tell you how much more organized I feel since switching back to paper, from digital.  I'm getting  more done around the house and I don't constantly have that feeling of, "oh man, I think I'm forgetting something."

That's it for me today.  I've been working on cataloguing some newer stamps and filing them away.  Need to finish those up tonight and then hopefully work on a few cards!  Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you tomorrow with a fun to find!
